Project Ordering & Payment Process

1.

Send me an e-mail or give me a call to discuss what you have in mind.  Throughout the course of correspondence or conversation, we’ll both determine if it is necessary or even feasible for us to meet in person.  If you are close, I will come to you, or if you’d rather, you can come to me.  Jobs involving significant travel will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

2.

Taking the best information I have gathered at the time, and as provided by you, I will then proceed with compiling an estimate for the proposed work, and present it to you.

3.

The estimate will be valid for your consideration for a period of 2 weeks.  Should you wish to proceed with the work, I will submit an invoice to you in the amount of $300.00.  This fee covers initial office and design costs, and allows for design changes from the estimating phase of the project.  This fee is non-refundable.  Of course, should you not wish to proceed after receiving the estimate, no fee is due.

4.

An Agreement will be prepared after all additional input is received.  The Agreement will reflect the entire Project Cost, or as much as is known about the job at the time (e.g., for a kitchen, the countertop cost might be left off, allowing the client to further consider the vast choices available).

5.

Agreement requirements – Signed and dated with accompanying down-payment of 50% of the listed Project Cost.  This puts your job on the schedule, and makes measured drawings available to you.  I will provide you with enough copies for other trades, if necessary (NOTE:  Not all projects will require drawings, but rest assured that you will have an excellent idea of your finished project's appearance before signing the Agreement). Remaining payments will be outlined under “Payment Schedule” on the Agreement.  Typically, the breakdown is 50% down payment, 25% approximately half-way into the work, and 25% at job completion.

6.

Other payment items – Should there be additional owner-requested work or items, or change orders, the requests will be paid for in-full at the time the request is made and the cost established.

7.

Progress reports – I will make every effort to keep you apprised of the progress on your project by way of e-mail correspondence (which may include pictures) or by telephone if you do not use e-mail.
